About Ostara
The celebration of Easter has its roots in many different cultural and religious traditions, and the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre/Ostara is just one of the many influences that have contributed to the modern holiday. The spring equinox has long been a time of renewal and rebirth, and many cultures around the world have celebrated this time of year with festivals and rituals focused on the themes of growth, fertility, and new beginnings. In the case of the Anglo-Saxons, the adoption of Christianity helped to shape the way in which they celebrated the spring equinox, ultimately leading to the development of the Easter holiday as we know it today.
On Sunday, if you wish to participate in an Ostara community potluck/social with grounding ritual led by Morganthe, please see details at Facebook group event. Also, we will be raising the barn, aka hoop house, Sunday afternoon. To view, kindly join our church’s community Facebook group.
